Who operates the service

Star Seeker Games, a DBA of Bare Getaways LLC operates StarSeeker.

StarSeeker does not offer telephone customer support. Account, billing, accessibility, and game-support requests are handled only by email at support@playstarseeker.com.

What StarSeeker asks the guardian to provide

• A child's first name or nickname.
• Observable reading skills and preferred level of assistance.
• An observable speaking level used only to guide pacing, language complexity, and tap or AAC-friendly prompts.

The microphone stays off by default. Voice coaching is a separate optional choice on the child-setup screen; see "Voice coaching" below for exactly what it does, and a guardian can turn it on or off from the family account at any time.

Voice coaching (only with your consent)

Voice coaching is off unless a guardian explicitly turns it on for a child, and a guardian can turn it off again at any time, with effect before the next prompted recording. On first use, the child must also tap the clearly labeled radio choice before StarSeeker asks the browser for microphone access. After the radio is on, the microphone opens automatically only during a clearly announced speaking turn, shows a visible listening indicator, and closes when that turn ends — unless a guardian also turns on Open Radio (below), it never listens elsewhere. That prompted recording is sent to StarSeeker's server and then to Microsoft Azure AI Speech for pronunciation assessment. Without the separate Tadamo choices below, StarSeeker immediately discards it after that assessment and keeps no recording or transcript.

If the same speaker is linked to Tadamo and the guardian separately signs Tadamo's current guardian agreement and enables all four current speech-processing, third-party-disclosure, training-audio-retention, and StarSeeker Recording Import choices, a qualifying prompted recording is also copied to Tadamo's private review queue. If delivery fails, StarSeeker keeps only an AES-256-GCM encrypted outbound copy for retry for at most 24 hours; it never writes plaintext audio, a plaintext prompt, a transcript, the key, or a provider response to that queue. StarSeeker deletes that ciphertext after delivery, revocation, profile or account deletion, expiry, or an integrity or decryption failure. The take cannot train until a guardian confirms or corrects its prompt label. Tadamo may retain a kept recording for up to 24 months to train that speaker's private Azure Custom Speech model. Revoking that separate choice queues imported copies, datasets, models, and endpoints for deletion, with 30 days as the outside completion limit.

StarSeeker keeps only non-audio learning results from a scored attempt, such as the feedback band, coverage, and word-level verdicts. Anthropic may receive only the curated target text and Azure-derived result band to write a short coaching line; it never receives the recording or transcript.

With voice coaching turned off, play is exactly the same experience: tap and AAC-friendly responses, and the microphone is never used.

Open Radio (optional background listening)

Open Radio is a separate, optional feature that starts off; nothing on this page turns it on. A guardian controls it and can turn it off at any time, with effect before the next background clip. If a guardian turns it on, then only while reading text is on the screen does StarSeeker listen in the background, in short clips of up to 10 seconds each, to hear the child reading aloud. A visible listening light shows whenever the background microphone is open. Listening pauses while the game's own audio is playing or a speaking turn is using the microphone.

A background clip with no speech in it is discarded on the device. A clip with speech is sent to StarSeeker's server and then to Microsoft Azure AI Speech for the same pronunciation assessment described above, and StarSeeker discards it after that assessment and keeps no recording or transcript from it. A background clip is never copied to Tadamo. StarSeeker keeps only non-audio learning results, such as which on-screen words the child read confidently.

With Open Radio off, nothing listens in the background: the microphone opens only for the clearly announced speaking turns described above.

What the game creates

StarSeeker records mission progress, tap-based answers, help used, and reading-learning history. When voice coaching is on for a child, it also keeps the non-audio feedback band, coverage, and word-level verdicts from each scored attempt described above. The only StarSeeker-side audio copy is the separately authorized, encrypted, short-lived Tadamo delivery retry described above; StarSeeker never stores a transcript.

Why this information is needed

The information selects an appropriate starting point, adjusts pacing and the amount of help in a mission, and gives the guardian a reading-progress view. Speaking level guides the wording and tap or AAC-friendly response path. Voice coaching, when a guardian turns it on, gives a child kind, real-time feedback on a reading attempt. The information is not used for advertising.

Who helps process it

Supabase hosts family records and authentication. Stripe handles the trial and subscription. Hostinger hosts the application and account email infrastructure, including the encrypted Tadamo retry queue described above. Sentry may receive privacy-scrubbed technical error information when enabled. If a guardian turns on optional voice coaching, a child's prompted reading-attempt recording is sent to Microsoft Azure AI Speech solely for pronunciation assessment. If a guardian also turns on optional Open Radio, short background reading clips go to the same provider for the same sole purpose. Anthropic may receive only curated target text and the derived result band for short coaching copy, never audio or a transcript. Tadamo receives a qualifying recording only when the same linked speaker also has the separate, current Tadamo import and retention choices described above. Outside these consented features, public family accounts do not send child profile, progress, or prompt data to external artificial-intelligence providers. These service providers are not authorized to use child information for behavioral advertising.

Your choice

Do not create the child profile if you do not consent to the core profile and learning records described above. Voice coaching and Open Radio are separate, optional choices and start off. A child profile works fully with tap and AAC-friendly responses alone, and turning voice coaching on or off never changes what a child can do in the game.

Consent is recorded with the guardian account, notice version, date, and selected options, including whether voice coaching is on. A guardian can turn voice coaching off at any time from the family account, and Open Radio off at any time as well; StarSeeker stops before the child's next prompted recording or background clip. Tadamo import is controlled separately in Tadamo. Starting a paid trial does not by itself turn either feature on.

Review, stop, or delete

A guardian may review records, correct placement selections, delete a child profile, or close the family account. Email support@playstarseeker.com from the guardian account email. StarSeeker will verify the requester before disclosing or deleting child records.
